“Before Me”

We all were conceived the same way.
By God's grace he laid the road then paved.
To help make the ride smooth.
But some of us choose to cut loose.

And try to sew our own path,
but it won't really last.

Before Me, the Skies All Aligned.
Before Me, Was Old Father Time.
Before Me, My Father Gave His Word.
And Before Me, or Before My Birth,
God Was First.

We're all taught to believe the same truth.
Eventually those who don't eat, conclude.
The ones who try to elude.
Still have the answers, the points mute.

Circling back around in the past.
Life's gonna go really fast.

Before Me, the Skies All Aligned.
Before Me, Was Old Father Time.
Before Me, My Father Gave His Word.
And Before Me, or Before My Birth,
God Was First.

Solo:

We all live and learn at our own pace.
You can't win or lose unless you're in the race.
The sidelines are for those replaced.
Still lookin' for the answer?
It might be erased.

Takin' the long way is gonna be vast.
Speed up the journey by aligned cast.

Before Me, the Skies All Aligned.
Before Me, Was Old Father Time.
Before Me, My Father Gave His Word.
And Before Me, or Before My Birth,
God Was First.
